Sumit Bhattacharjee is an Assistant Director at the National Book Trust, India, a Government of India organization working towards the promotion of books and reading. As a publishing professional with 30 years of experience, he has handled varied areas including production, marketing, publicity and exhibitions. A firm believer in the ethics of publishing, Shri Bhattacharjee is committed towards creating a talent pool of young professionals in the Industry. A visiting faculty at the publishing courses organized by the Delhi University, IGNOU, Institute of Book Publishing, Shri Bhattacharjee is also the Course Coordinator for NBT’s Training Course in Book Publishing held in New Delhi and other parts of the country.
Presently, he heads the Training and Projects Division of the Trust. As a part of his current profile, Shri Bhattacharjee is also in the process of initiating a series of Book Promotion Centres all over the country to create an atmosphere to develop reading habits and culture.
