Manasi SubramaniamManasi Subramaniam is the Commissioning Editor at Karadi Tales Company. She has 5 years’ experience in publishing, several years’ experience in theatre and creative writing, and a postgraduate degree in Literature. At Karadi Tales, she focuses on picture books, audio books, and young adult fiction. She has represented Karadi Tales at the international trade fairs at New York, Frankfurt, London, Singapore, Bologna, Kolkata, and New Delhi, and in 2012 she was chosen for the prestigious Frankfurt Fellowship Programme for International Publishers. In 2013, she was invited by the Italian Trade Commission to represent India at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Karadi Tales is an independent publishing house based in Chennai, India, and is a subsidiary of the ACK Media Group. Primarily publishers of audio books and picture books for children, Karadi Tales has also recently forayed into video, applications, and television. Karadi Tales products have won worldwide critical acclaim and recognition from international bodies including National Association of Parenting Publications of America (NAPPA), White Ravens (Internationale Jugendbibliothek, Germany), International Board on Books for Young people (iBBY), and the Dr. Toy Awards.

Manasi is extremely focused on bringing the very best of fiction from India to an international audience, as well as introducing Indian audiences to books of the world. She reads incessantly and is always on the look-out for powerful, authentic writing. She looks forward to learning more, meeting and collaborating with diverse international publishers, and exchanging ideas and approaches. She has written for Karadi Tales and other publications.
