K. Muralidharan, is a journalist for more than a decade and has worked with India Today, Ndtv – Hindu and now with Puthiya Thalaimurai, a News channel in Tamil. He ventured into book publication with a translation of Kuldip Nayar’s Scoop in Tamil. He has now published five books, of which three were translations from English to Tamil. His publishing venture, Madurai Press is focused on bringing books on contemporary History and Politics, mostly from English to Tamil. Madurai Press also nurtures aspirations of publishing detective novels and books for children, a dream that Murali hopes to realise soon.

Murali believes that the market for children’s books in Tamil is yet to be tapped. Though childrens books published in English have a good market, very few children books have been published in Tamil for children. Murali is convinced that a new world will open up for children of Tamil Nadu when quality works are published. His business idea was long listed in British council’s Creative Future long list.
