GayathriGayathri is very passionate about the education system in India. Her core interests lie in finding appropriate environments and methods to engage children in learning, based on research in psychology, neuroscience and education.
She started her career in the Telecommunication software industry where she spent 10 years building and managing products and teams both in India and US. The birth of her daughter in 2003 inspired her to make a career shift to the field of education. She has worked with many educational organizations both in India and US, teaching children and helping them with their organizational/program development needs. She holds a Master of Science degree fromStanford University, USA and a Master of Education degree fromHarvard University, USA.
In 2012 she started an organization called Parent Musings(http://www.parentmusings.in) mainly in order to cater to the needs of parents of children 0-12 years old and to raise awareness about child-centric methods of education. As part of this effort, she has created an unique space in the heart of Bangalore called Kutoohala – A Space for Curious Minds (http://www.kutoohala.in). This space contains a books and toy store and an event space for children and parents. All children’s books, toys and events in this space are carefully curated based on what Parent Musings believes is both fun and educational. Gayathri hopes that this space and it’s programs will inspire children and their parents to pursue learning for the joy of it rather than just for the sake of exams and prizes.

Apart from working on Parent Musings, she is a Trustee for Tejasvita Trust which is working on programs to identify gifted children in underprivileged communities and fund their education.
